Understanding ‘security’ vs. ‘safety’

The terms “security” and “safety” are often used interchangeably, but they have different definitions. Security primarily refers to intentional criminal acts against employees, customers, assets or property, while safety refers to unintentional or accidental acts, events or hazards.

Scope of security in the TUI Group

TUI has an extensive international business and Group Security works with all key security and business partners across the company, but is not responsible for airline or cruise security due to legal requirements. In these business areas, we act as an advisory partner and are in regular contact to provide mutual support to the individual departments.
